Get involved with events and volunteer where you live to help win LGBT equality and justice in New York!
Join local efforts to build support for transgender non-discrimination, marriage equality, and ending bias-based harassment in schools in New York State. From Long Island to Buffalo, local monthly IMPACT Team meetings and meetings of our Pride In Action programs are focused on building support in YOUR community for LGBT equality and justice. The Pride Agenda’s monthly activities include:
- IMPACT meetings: Marriage Ambassadors, GENDA Advocates, Dignity enthusiasts and progressive people of faith come together to plan upcoming events, share information, and build the movement for equality and justice.
- Community Ambassador trainings: These all-day training provides participants with the skills and language to: talk to legislators and the media about the various issues involved in achieving marriage equality, legal protections for transgender people and safe schools for LGBT youth; organize local events in their communities to build support for LGBT families; and mobilize LGBT supporters where they live in order to make their communites leaders in the state for equality and justice.
- Pride in the Pulpit meetings: Faith leaders and faith-based spiritual activists come together to organize the spiritual movement for LGBT equality. Pride in the Pulpit is the religious and moral voice for LGBT equality, and together we can change hearts and minds in New York!
- Pride in Our Union/Pride at Work meetings: Union members and staff working in solidarity on issues that affect LGBT individuals/workers/union members and the health and welfare of our families.
